“Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind.” Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, “What? Are we blind too?” Jesus said, “If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.”John 9:39-41 NIV
In this scripture, Jesus healed a blind man and he is sharing his evidential testimony of what Jesus had done and they still didn’t believe him. The man who was blind was not a result of sin but it was a condition withholding him to do certain things.
The man was thrown out by the Jewish leaders and convinced that he didn’t know what He was talking about but he said,
“If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.”-John 9:33 NIV.
He was thrown out for this. And Jesus found and asked “Do you believe in the son of man?” The man was curious and didn’t realise that He was right in front of him.
“You have seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you,” he worshipped and said he believed.
✨The expression shown in this part amazes me because 1)He believed, 2)
He trusted Jesus straight away And 3)He worshipped Him.
Jesus was talking about those who are blind will see and those who see will be blind in front of the Pharisees and they made this claim “Are we also blind?” That sounds like pride because they were very above everyone else and they wouldn’t understand why If Jesus claimed He is Lord and son of God, how can He hang out with sinners and gather with them?
Well thats what I love about Jesus He cares about the hearts not just “law” on its own💖
Could this beg a few questions for us all? This really digs beneath the surface. ( Thats what the gospels do) It can become so easy to be consumed if we aren’t careful and accountable/responsibility for our words, actions and thoughts 💭
✨We aren’t perfect and that is the point of the gospels. Jesus was put onto this earth to show that to believe is to become new and start from the inside out not from the law alone and outside in.
🌾Be open to growth and challenges
💥Maybe its time to evaluate when it gets comfortable what am I seeing? And what can I do to move forward step by step. Or am I seeing and have a heart thats builds up bitterness and all the yucky stuff?
